Your first step into the world of the professional diver. If the dive bug really bites then why not consider assisting others to learn to dive and guide fellow adventurers on pleasure dives. A career in diving is a possibility for the PADI Divemaster and the initial step toward becoming an Instructor. A PADI Divemaster is a rating denoting you as a person who: - - Has a high level of personal diving skills
- Has Instructor level knowledge of diving theory
- Has had significant training in how to assist an Instructor during training activities
- Is able to assume appropriate responsibilities that benefit the welfare of other divers
As a PADI Divemaster you'll be qualified to:
- Organise, conduct and supervise recreational diving activities, both land and boat based
- Assist PADI Instructors in conducting PADI Diver programs
- Aid PADI Instructors both as an instructional assistant and a supervisor of open water diving activities (both as a co-ordinator and as an underwater guide)
- Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers
- Conduct the PADI Scuba Review program for certified divers
- Enrol in PADI Instructor level training
There are two options if you undertake a Divemaster Course with us.
Option 1 – Internship This option is for those who have the time and dedication to assist in all aspects of running a Dive Centre or in our case an Inland Dive Facility. We are the ideal location for all budding Divemasters to experience being a ‘real’ divemaster in a busy inland centre making you ready to face anything! You will do more diving with us on this course than with almost every other centre. This course on average takes between 3 – 6 months depending on how much time you can give to it. Some of our divemasters have taken 3 years – I think they enjoy it too much!
Course Pre-requisites:
- You must be minimum 18 years of age.
- Have a minimum of 20 logged dives.
- Hold a current HSE Medical.
- Have the Rescue Diver/EFR qualification.
- Must own your own dive equipment including adequate exposure protection (cylinders can be provided).
The Internship Option is £350.
Option 2 - Practical Method This option is for those who are on a tight schedule. This is the compressed version of the course and takes 3 weeks to complete.
Course Pre-requisites:
- You must be minimum 18 years of age.
- Have a minimum of 20 logged dives.
- Have the Rescue Diver/EFR qualification.
- Must own your own dive equipment including adequate exposure protection (cylinders can be provided).
